22nd April 2016

Over 300 people attended SGS College’s Berkeley Green Campus Open Event, this past Saturday, to see the latest developments at the site and discover the range of exciting courses to be offered.

Potential students met with specialists to learn about cyber security, engineering, construction and digital technologies provisions that will be available to study at the Campus. @t Bristol was also in attendance with a variety of cutting-edge, interactive engineering displays as well as NAO the robot, which is the leading humanoid robot being used in research and education worldwide.

The new campus, which is due to open September 2017, will offer some of the best training facilities in the country for the science, technology, mathematics and engineering industries and will also house the College’s University Technical College (UTC).

The much-hyped new campus - part of a £40million investment - is being developed into a centre focusing on education, training, business start-up and research facilities.

SGS College Principal, Sara-Jane Watkins, said: “Comments received about our open event and the Campus were overwhelmingly positive, with everyone very supportive of what is happening. The GREEN skills centre was the focus of much of the attention as the transformation of the building is now in full swing. Everyone is very excited by the building’s phased opening, which will be closely linked to the opening of the adjoined UTC in September 2017.”
