Energise your future at the January Berkeley GREEN Campus open event

The first open event of 2017 at the Berkeley GREEN Campus takes place Saturday 28th January, 10:00 – 13:00.

Guests can discover the vast array of career and learning opportunities coming to the Berkeley GREEN Campus, opening in September 2017, as well as be in with a chance to win an iPhone 7. To enter the competition visitors will need to bring along an open event flyer or register online at the Berkeley GREEN UTC website.

The whole community is invited to the open event, where visitors can speak with staff to find out about the site’s exciting Engineering, Construction, Digital Technologies provision and the UTC. There will also be an opportunity to tour the site and hear about planning for the brand new GREEN Centre. Employer partners will also be present to talk about potential opportunities and careers in the digital and engineering sectors.

The GREEN Centre was officially unveiled in December 2016 and will be developed over the next five years into a campus, which will incorporate education, training, business start-up and research facilities and will focus on the development of Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics.

Opening in 2017, the UTC will provide specialist, high quality, vocational and academic education for learners with a strong interest in Advanced Engineering and Digital Technologies.

NAO the robot will also be at the event, demonstrating his interaction skills in reading, writing, math, algebra, geometry, trigonometry, calculus and programming. NAO is the leading humanoid robot being used in research and education worldwide.

SGS College Principal, Sara-Jane Watkins, comments: “Open events at the Berkeley Green Campus have been very popular and visitors have found them to be highly beneficial. If you are interested to discover what the new campus can offer you, pay us a visit, Saturday 28 January.”
